At the Imperial Palace, there is a Bonsai Garden called “Ohmichi Garden”.

When there are Their Majesties’ New Year Reception, State Banquets and other functions at the Imperial Palace, masterpiece bonsai will be displayed from their bonsai collection.



Usually, the Imperial Bonsai Collection is kept at the Imperial Palace and we are not able to admire the bonsai.

In this book we would like to introduce you to some of the Collection masterpiece bonsai, in the four seasons.

Bonsai is considered a living art, and we are going to introduce you to some of their finest from the Imperial Bonsai collection.
